Tesla is an American company, started by an American citizen, (yes Elon is from South Africa, but he is an American citizen by naturalization so shush,) and has had numerous successes in bringing fully electric vehicles to the mainstream. Many people I have random conversations with know about Tesla. It’s a household name.

This alone should be celebrated. Now, Tesla is taking on the trucking industry as well. Not only are there Tesla semi trucks, but in 2018, Tesla unveiled a delicious looking semi that just screams Big Red at me.  This beautiful photo, (not sure who the original photographer is, but would love to give them a shout out here), just made me remember younger days.  During most of my teen years, this gum and the grape bubble tape were the only gum flavors I chewed.

So when I first saw the red semi, I knew I would call it Big Red. Not sure how Wrigley would feel about that, but I am sure they might want to collab with Tesla in the future. I can see it now, free gum for all Tesla employees or them sponsoring a Tesla event with gum. Silly, but maybe not.

I wonder if Elon named the red Tesla semi, (I’m sure he has), and what the name is. If you had the option of naming the red Tesla semi, what would you name it?

A note about the big semi trucks. I have never liked them. They are big, loud giants that stalk you on the roads. To see Tesla taking these giants and making them fully electric, having the autopilot tech combined really makes me feel safer. I’ve always felt a little intimidated when one passes me up whether I am in a friends car or on a bus or walking. And when walking, they make these loud diesel farts that you choke on.

I was diagnosed with asthma at 14 and right after that diagnoses, I literally couldn’t breathe around the big trucks when they did that. It would trigger an attack. Today the asthma is fully under control, but all this pollution in our lungs does not help our bodies. Whether air or food, what our bodies take in gets processed and we become it on a cellular level. I would rather be the clean air and not some diesel fart.
